Quiet Fly Fisher Fishing Reports

Hi Guys, It's the Lazy days Of Summer for us and the fishing has been all around Fantastic!!!! We hope to see you again soon. Thanks for all the Emails, phone calls, and visits. I'm looking forward to fishing with you again.
~ Mike James.
FREMONT RIVER: (Upper)
The Fremont is still running full stream with some slight color. Clarity will only drop as the summer progresses, and the level of Johnson Valley res' drops. The fishing has been fair.
The hard winter scoured the fish out of the creek this year, but fish have once again started to move up from Mill Meadow. (The heaviest move will start in late September) as most of the larger browns will be found closer to Mill Meadow. Suggested Flies: (Hopper Imitations)( Hares Ear sz14 to 16) and (Pheasant tails sz 14 to 18) A bugger striped quickly through the pools can work wonders as well.

U.M Creek: (Artificial fly and lure Only)
Fishing excellent right now the tigers are no longer planted up there so enjoy the few you catch.
Cut-throat are making an incredible comeback this year, there are at least 3 good generations in the stream now with some of the third generation at 16 inches...(Note: any Browns Caught should be kept regardless of Size up there.) The hatches are strong with Caddis being the dominant one. Fish are actively feeding on them. Any caddis imitation we threw worked well, and we also tossed A Hopper along the banks and caught just as many. We did use a dropper with it, however it soon was removed as the fish were defiantly looking up.
SEVEN-MILE CREEK:
The fishing is good and
will continue to improve as the summer progresses. Caddis are hatching strong up there and Hoppers are out in force. (There is construction on the Road up there however it is currently nowhere near the stream and best fishing areas. Worth a go this time of year)

BOULDER MOUNTAIN: (Lakes)
(Late July into August brings some of the best Boy Scout Hatches ever on the mountain. Look for them on all waters (especially the Boulder top and just off the rim....) Seriously expect crowds up there this time of year as people try for one last hurrah before school starts.
Most lakes that winter killed have been replanted by this time of year and the fish are fattening. There are some amazing fish being caught now... It's worth slugging it out to access your favorite Section. The Baetis Hatches are incredible this time of year and the fish are locking in on them. A Pheasant Tail Nymph is a solid choice underneath with a parachute adams on the surface. Scud imitations are working well also.
THOUSAND LAKES: (mountain Lakes)
This is actually a good choice this time of year access is fairly easy and the crowds are usually less then that of Boulder. The fishing is fair with a lot of holdover fish this year there are at least 3 generations in most of the Lakes so you will stumble in to some 16 to 18 inch Fish. There are some great Brookies in Deep Creek and some good Rainbows in Round. The Damsel Fly Hatches are good at this time of year and the fish really key in on the adults and Nymphs.
If you are interested in a Particular Lake or stream give us a call or shoot us an Email and we'll give you more details.
